Orange Tree Self Serve Frozen Yogurt

Written by Kelly Souza- Staff Writer

Orange Tree self-serve frozen yogurt has opened its first franchise right in Gilbert High School’s backyard, offering a “teen-friendly” environment for GHS students. The simplistic 35 cents per ounce price tag adds to the atmosphere of the newest hip and affordable hangout spot. The Orange Tree opened its doors on October 16, and is located on the southwest corner of Val Vista and Warner.

After using more than my fair share of sample cups I ordered my “froyo” and was pleasantly surprised with the big taste and little prices. GHS junior Chris Wisnewski loves working at Orange Tree and recommends that first-time customers order “New York Cheesecake and Strawberry frozen yogurt with graham cracker topping”.

However, whatever one’s taste buds desire the Orange Tree offers every yogurt enthusiast a tedious task in deciding his or her yogurt flavor and toppings. One may find it difficult to decide between the dried and fresh fruit, hard candies, candy bars, cookies, and nuts to pile on top of every yogurt flavor including: fresh fruits such as pomegranate, Dole pineapple, and tango mango, to classics such as Death by chocolate, vanilla, and cookies and crème.

The unique shop solves the age-old problem most ice cream parlors have: you can get as much of whatever you want, and therefore, never pay for more than what you want. Orange Tree provides everything that a teenager could ever want from a local hangout: a cool, modern atmosphere, a more-than-affordable price, and a never-ending supply of sample cups.
