Santan Village Mall and A to Z Rentals have teamed up with the town of Gilbert to recycle Christmas trees to help improve Gilbert and make better use of a tree that normally would just be thrown out. Recycled trees will be converted into mulch to be used by the community for landscaping ventures. There are several locations where people can drop off their cut trees starting December 26 through January 18, including Hetchler Park at the southwest corner of Greenfield and Germann or Nicholas Park at the southwest corner of Guadalupe and Higley. Until January 4 one can also drop off cut trees in the Santan Village Mall near Dicks Sporting Goods or at A-Z Equipment Rentals on 1313 East Baseline Road.
